Be Their Voice works to reduce animal suffering in Barbados through high–impact spay and neuter programs, support for families in need of veterinary care and food, and rescuing vulnerable animals from the streets into shelters, foster homes, and loving adoptions. Our Vision for Barbados
We believe Barbados can become the first Caribbean country to create a truly humane future for animals, reducing suffering, neglect, and the number of animals living on the streets. Inspired by global leaders like the Netherlands, we know progress is possible through strong community partnerships, accessible spay and neuter programs, and compassionate public education. Our aim is not to criticize Barbados, but to spark a positive shift – one that shows the world how a small island can lead with kindness.
The Problem
For years, animals in Barbados have lacked the protection and support they need, leaving countless dogs and cats vulnerable to neglect, abandonment, and life on the streets. Yet many families genuinely love their animals but cannot afford food, veterinary care, or sterilization, creating unwanted litters and overwhelmed shelters across the island. Be Their Voice works to close these gaps through practical support, accessible education, and community-focused initiatives that help build a kinder future for every animal.
